After Care Instructions

1. Leave bandage on for one hour.
2. Wash tattoo in warm water with anti-bacterial soap (non-perfume soap).
3. Pat tattoo dry with a paper towel and apply light coat of A&D ointment (Aquaphor or Tat Wax are acceptable substitutes). Apply ointment twice a day.
4. Keep applying ointment for 3-5 days. Once healing process begins, you may switch to a non-perfume lotion. (note: if it burns, wash and apply ointment)
5. No picking or scratching, please! No swimming, soaking or direct sunlight for at least 14 days! Your well taken care of tattoo will heal in 1-2 weeks.
6. Scabbing and peeling of the tattoo are normal. If you think your tattoo is infected, report the incident to your Artist who is obligated to report it to the Health Department. El Paso County Health Department’s phone number is 719-578-3199.
